Born in Montreal, Jimmy Papachristou is the son of the late John Papachristou (Yanni). Jimmy never studied art, but from a young age, was exposed to his father’s beautiful paintings. Jimmy started painting after the loss of his father (July 22, 2002), as a way to feel close to him. Feeling as though his father is watching and guiding him with every brush stroke, he signs his paintings « Yannisson » as a tribute to his father.
