Yvon Latreille

I have been painting since the age of 12, within burst of inspiration, throughout different periods in my life. I have been using oil up until the end of 2008, it was my favourite medium. I have touched on all subjects: portraits, urban and rural landscapes, still lifes. When I started, in the 1960s, my paintings were done mostly on wood or vinyl. I would distribute my work among my family and friends, most of the time as a gift.

Today, in retirement, after 30 years of teaching, I am a full time painter. I recently started working with acrylic, a medium which I appreciate for its brightness. This allows me to deliver my works at a faster pace as the demand increases, especially because I still give out my works as gifts but this time, with significant profits going to Foundations I hold close to my heart. I remain free in the fate of my works and especially in creativity. But the dream I cherish is to be an artist-painter serving Foundations.
