2012. Mariola Nykiel. Biography

Polish-born artist Mariola Nykiel, lives and paints on the West Island of Montreal (Quebec).  She has developed a new and contemporary vision of the Quebec landscape, as part of a series of paintings inspired by Kamouraska, a village situated on the south shore of the St. Laurence River. Graduated from the Fine Arts School in Lodz, Poland in 1984, she obtained her diploma in fashion design from the Lasalle College in Montreal in 1993. During the academic school year she teaches children and youth Art and Fashion Design at the DDO and Pierrefonds Cultural center. She has participated in painting exhibitions in Poland, Italy and Canada. Her oil paintings are present in many private collections throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. www.nykielart.com
