Malvina Kefallinos Georgiades
Malvina Kefallinos Georgiades was born in Montreal and her love of art began as a child. It encompassed writing poetry, lyrics and music and of course painting. In Cegep, she studied art, learning painting and drawing techniques, printing, sculpture, textile art as well as art history.
She went on to Concordia University and received a bachelor degree in Art History and a minor in Archaeology. She continued painting and shared this appreciation with her children. Later she taught art overseas to children and young adolescents combining Art History and other cross-curricular subjects such as language arts and science in the lessons.
She works mostly in oil but also enjoy using acrylics. The acrylic medium gives her a new sense of freedom to explore non-traditional applications of paint and using mixed-media.
