Artist Statement

I believe we respond to methods of expression that capture nature in a way that make it feel familiar to us. While our individual perceptions of beauty differ according to our culture and life experiences, there is a universality in these paintings that resonates with me.

In my paintings I strive to capture a moment in time, to evoke an emotional response and to share a mood with the viewer. My goal is to express authenticity on a flat surface using acrylic paints, pastels and graphite to create texture, colour and composition.

“The art that speaks to us is a reflection of who we are. The perception of beauty is unique to each one of us”
