Sandy Baylin

Sandy Baylin’s inspiration is rooted in nature, and having spent more than fifty years in the Laurentians, she captures the essence of this dearly loved mountainous area on canvas. Baylin’s colours are alive and fresh and one can see the movement and rhythm of the artist’s broken brushstrokes. She paints with a unique style that is easily recognizable even to an untrained eye and the use of acrylic is a perfect medium for her. Often, there is an air of tranquility in her compositions and she successfully captures the essence of the day in her work. Her compositions welcome the viewer into the landscape, personalizing the relationship between the two. Baylin also finds beauty in still life studies and in interiors. She hopes to share with the viewer these personal, meaningful and joyful life segments that are close to her heart. Baylin has exhibited extensively, participating in both juried group and solo shows. She has been awarded recognition for some of her canvases from well-established art organizations in Montreal.
