GORDON GEZA MARICH

LOGGING, MELBOURNE QC

Gordon Geza Marich was born in Hungary in 1913. He studied art in Budapest and emigrated to Canada in 1957. It is generally accepted that his death occurred in 1975, although some conflicting reports indicate that he died in 1985.  Widely collected, Marich painted many different subjects, including the city center of Montreal, Quebec. Its tables are displayed in the National Museum of Art in Budapest galleries in Ottawa and Toronto, and in private collections around the world. His work evolved towards abstraction, including the extensive use of a palette knife.
