2015. Biography. Helen Kavouris
Helen Kavouris is a multimedia artist. She enjoys the experimental process of producing new and innovative art. Her paintings tend to be more abstract while her drawings are more realistic. This tends to reflect her personality very much. While she is very technical in some aspects of her life in other ways she is very free spirited. Artists that influence her are Jackson Pollock, Salvador Dali, Michelangelo and Lee Krasner.
She graduated with a diploma of Fine Arts at Dawson College. Dawson College
defiantly helped her discover her sense of artistry more on inner spiritual level. She was nominated by her fellow classmates to be in charge, “Coordinator” of their graduating class art exhibit as well as fundraiser leader. This experience showed her how to work behind the scenes of an art gallery as well as fundraising. A few of her art pieces have been shown in the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery. She is currently getting her masters in Studio Arts at Concordia University as she plans on being an art professor. The reason she decided to become an artist and continue is due to her mother. Her mother always promoted her in being a strong individual and sticking to what she wants. She taught her that philanthropy is something that should be seen as second nature. Especially when it comes to helping in empowering women in being their own strong individuals.
