Aram Melikian

Aram Melikian was born in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo, Egypt, in the forties. From early childhood he has developed a passion to draw and paint. He was fortunate to have a known local painter O. Avedissian, as his art teacher during his elementary school years in the fifties, in addition to Gazalé as his visual art teacher during his secondary studies in the sixties.

Both teachers were instrumental in further developing his natural painting talent and abilities. He emigrated to Canada in the mid sixties and due to circumstances, he pursued his university studies at Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université de Montréal. After many years working in his engineering profession, he is now retired and devotes his time back to artistic visual art painting.

His art works of oil and acrylic paintings have been exhibited at local cultural centers such as the Tekeyan Armenian Cultural Association. His art works have also been auctioned at the Armenian benevolent centers such as AGBU, and he presently exhibits and sells his art works at restaurants such as Le Bâton Rouge in Sherbrooke.
